The very essence of Quai de la Photo, an art center dedicated to contemporary photography, is cultural and artistic. Our ambition is to showcase innovative and original photographic practices.
FREE, OPEN-ACCESS EXHIBITIONS
Quai de la Photo offers free, open-access exhibitions, bringing together the great names of photography and emerging artists from France and abroad. The exhibitions occupy all areas of the floating building, with a total surface area of over 1,000m2: the main deck, the gallery devoted entirely to the works, and the terrace that opens out onto the river banks in fine weather.
CULTURAL MEDIATION INITIATIVES
Quai de la Photo is a space for exchange and transmission, between photographers and the public, institutions and professionals. In addition to exhibitions, Quai de la Photo organizes a variety of activities open to all, always free of charge: guided tours, themed conferences, workshops for children, and more.
A SPECIALIZED BOOKSHOP
Au cœur de Quai de la Photo, la librairie-boutique invite curieux et passionnés à explorer la photographie sous toutes ses facettes. Sa sélection d’ouvrages s’adresse à tous, avec des livres de photographes émergents, des livres pour débuter et des références incontournables.
En lien avec les expositions et avec l’univers de Quai de la Photo, la librairie – boutique propose également des objets inspirés de la photographie tels que des cartes postales et des kits de cyanotype ou encore des souvenirs de votre visite.
Françoise Huguier, an inspiring godmother
Françoise Huguier is a freelance French photographer who has covered subjects ranging from cinema, politics and fashion to culture. She has traveled to Africa, Siberia, Russia, Japan and India.
A member of Agence Vu' and the Académie des Beaux-Arts, Françoise Huguier has produced an eclectic body of photographic work spanning more than forty years.
A rich career, an inspirational figure for today's photographers: all the more reason to choose her as patron of Quai de la Photo, a venue dedicated to contemporary photography with an international outlook.
