MEET Emmanuelle Hascoët (BnF) and photographers Marie Docher and Anaïs Oudart
Join us at La Comète on Wednesday April 24 from 7 to 8:30 pm for a meeting in connection with the Great Commission for photojournalism and the "France under their eyes" exhibition at the BnF | François Mitterrand until June 23!
Emmanuelle Hascoët, in charge of contemporary photography at BnF, will talk with Anaïs Oudart and Marie Docher, two photographers from the Grande commande. They will present the challenges of this historic mission, the themes of their work - minorities represented - and talk about the culmination of an editorial project into a photo book.

The Bibliothèque nationale de France is devoting a major exhibition to the work of 200 photographers, regular contributors to the national and international press, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture in 2021 to produce a panorama of France in the wake of the health crisis linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. Led by the Library, the major commission for photojournalism - entitled Radioscopie de la France: regards sur un pays traversé par la crise sanitaire - enabled the winning photographers to receive funding of 22,000 euros each to complete their reportage. The 2,000 unpublished prints produced were then added to the BnF collections. Through a selection of almost 500 shots, this exhibition highlights the variety of approaches chosen by the 200 prizewinners, and tells the story of France in the 2020s. The scope of the exhibition will be a milestone in the history of photojournalism.
