The Seine, the Seine

From March 27 to May 27, Quai de la Photo takes part in the Biennale du 13e arrondissement de Paris, on the theme of childhood, adolescence and youth. "Two women, two generations". Dimitri Beck

THE SEINE, THE SEINE
From June 5 to September 8, 2024, Quai de la Photo puts the Seine in the spotlight by telling its story, that of a river so deeply linked to the identity of Paris.
As the capital prepares to host the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Quai de la Photo wanted to take a look back at how the riverbanks have evolved over the centuries through its exhibition La Seine, La Seine. Immersed in the heart of the floating art center moored in the 13th arrondissement, this two-part exhibition offers a social and historical tour of the quays.

Rive droite, Rive gauche invites you on a journey through time. The exhibition features more than 80 photographs dating from the 2nd half of the 19th century to the 1960s, enabling you to rediscover the vast changes taking place on the banks of the Seine. These archives are presented in partnership with the gallery and the historic Roger-Viollet agency.
La Source proposed by Frédéric Stucin, is a journey between the real and the imaginary, back to the source of the Seine. This Seine journey is guided by the people who live along its banks.
Through their encounter, the photographer seeks to echo the adage "those who live close to the river are soothed by its presence". This second exhibition is a stroll to be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace.

Public opening on Wednesday June 5 from 6.30pm.
