Weekend wet collodion photography
21 DECEMBRE : INITIATION AU COLLODION HUMIDE
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
La Comète offers an introduction to wet collodion with Thomas Halkin, a mid-19th-century method of silver plate photography.
Collodion was the first technique to democratize photography, and portraiture in particular. Still a rudimentary technique, it requires continuity between chemical preparation, shooting and developing, which gives it a particular charm today.
The workshop will first cover the history of the practice, as well as the safety aspects of collodion, before the realization of a first image. Thomas Halkin will show you how to handle a view camera and what to do in the lab. He will then pass the baton to participants, who will produce at least one plate under his supervision and a portrait of another participant.
À la fin de l’atelier, les plaques seront scannées et les participants pourront venir chercher leur plaque dès le lendemain. Les ateliers durent 3 heures avec une pause et comptent 4 participants maximum.
Duration: 3 hours
The workshop will not be refunded in the event of cancellation after December 14, 2024.
22 DECEMBRE : PORTRAIT AU COLLODION HUMIDE
1 pm - 8 pm
Book a unique photo session in the Quai de la Photo studio, using Thomas Halkin's wet collodion photographic process, a mid-19th century method of silver plate photography.
Les séances auront lieu le dimanche 22 décembre pour une durée de 30min.
