This event highlights the fascinating transformation of house music from its American roots to its appropriation and reinvention in Caribbean territories and Creole cultures.
This evening will be a musical journey that not only traverses the great founding American metropolises, but now extends to African Creole cultures where house has been infused with local African and Caribbean rhythms, languages and sensibilities to create a vibrant and distinctive new branch in the family tree of this musical genre.
On the program:
