To each his own nostalgia... returning to the footsteps of his own life... or better still, to eras he never knew, except by hearsay or through black-and-white images. For me, it's the 50s that attract me, the immediate post-war period, the rebuilding of France, the beginning of the 30 glorious years and that perfume of poetic realism...

Born in the Cantal region, in one of those small villages in the heart of France that haven't changed much over the years, I set out to recreate scenes of daily life in those days, with the constant concern to avoid any form of anachronism, like a fictional filmmaker, in order to capture the material reality of the period and better capture the spirit of the times.
